What is Rising Star Learning?

Rising Star Learning is a home-based learning center located in the beautiful River Islands community at Lathrop, CA. We offer “Math Adventure” for students in Grade 3-8. We firmly believe that by engaging with math in a fun yet challenging way, children are better prepared for higher-level academics and future opportunities.

What to expect in your classes?

• Before each class, I’ll email a short worksheet for your child to complete at home (about 30 minutes).

• Please provide a quiet space and encourage them to show all their works and steps.

• In class, we’ll review solutions, explore new strategies, and collaborate in small groups.

• Each lesson also includes math tricks, puzzles, or fun facts - so don’t be surprised if your child comes home eager to challenge you or want to play a math game with you (parents, we encourage you to join in).

Who can enroll?

Students in Grade 3-8 seeking a greater challenge and wanting to build a strong foundation for advanced math courses can enroll.

What is the cost?

• Small class size (max 4 students)

• First class is free

• $20 per class per student

What materials do you use?

We use engaging resources such as Math Olympiad, MathCounts, and AMC 8 questions. All worksheets are included - there are no additional fees.

How do I get a free evaluation worksheet for my child?

Simply send an email to info@risingstarlearning.com with “Evaluation Request” and your child’s grade level in the subject line. I’ll reply with the appropriate worksheet and simple instructions. Please make sure your child completes the worksheet on their own - this helps us understand their current level so we can place them in a class where they’ll feel confident, challenged, and excited to learn.
